Lengwe National Park is located in the lower Shire valley, 75 kilometres south of the commercial capital, Blantyre. One distinguishing feature of the Park is the beautiful Nyala antelope which are indigenous only to this park in Malawi. It also has many other species such as kudu, impala, bush buck, buffalo, warthogs, spotted hyena, leopard and reed buck. The park is also a paradise for bird-watchers with over 300 recorded bird species.
