Kitunda Parish of the catholic church donated to Malawi cyclone Freddy victims through Malawi Commission office in Dar es Salaam.
The Parish delegation was led by the Father Moses Mbilinyi, Assistant Parish Priest who spoke of oneness in times of need.
“We were all concerned to learn about the disaster in Malawi and as a church, we thought of coming together to do something within our and we are glad to be here today to present this little help from our church. We stand with Malawi and we will continue to pray for the people of Malawi,” said Father Mbillinyi.
Receiving the donation on behalf of Malawi government was the High Commissioner, His Excellency Andrew Kumwenda who commended the church for their efforts towards assisting Malawi in this time of need.
“We are grateful to Kitunda Parish for this time donation which will go a long way for the victims in Malawi. We also thank everyone who has already reached out to us. The government and the people of Malawi are honored and thankful,” he said.
The church donated various kitchen utensils to victims of the cyclone Freddy and conveyed their message of goodwill to the people of Malawi, especially those affected by the disaster.
