Diplomatic staff at Malawi High Commission in Tanzania join the Malawi government, private organizations, all agencies, and individual well-wishers in assisting victims of cyclone Freddy in Malawi through donations of assorted items.
“We decided to come together and make contributions to help our brothers and sisters affected by cyclone Freddy in Malawi and we are happy to have managed to do it timely,” explained Debora Mitawa, Deputy High Commissioner (DHC).
Accord to the DHC, the mission will continue to work hand in hand with different stakeholders including the business community, diplomatic community and fellow Malawians living in Tanzania, Rwanda, Comoros and Seychelles to help the cyclone victims in Malawi
Among others, they donated plastic mats (Mikeka), bales of children’s clothes, and Massai Wrappers. This was done in response to the President’s appeal for donations to relieve the suffering of fellow Malawians in Southern Malawi. The donation will be made through DoDMA.
