I would like to welcome you to our website, where you will find more information about Malawi, the Warm Heart of Africa, and its High Commission in Tanzania.
The Malawi Mission in Dar es Salaam was opened in 1985 following the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Malawi Mission in Tanzania is also accredited on a non-residential basis to Burundi, Comoros, Rwanda and Seychelles. Our mission is to promote Malawi's political and socio-economic interests through proactive engagement and development diplomacy.
Our major objective is to promote sound bilateral relations with Tanzania and other countries of accreditation, in line with Malawi's foreign policy which places a greater emphasis on advancing political and economic relations with its neighbouring countries. The Mission focuses on the promotion of trade, investment and tourism; sharing of best practices in various sectors; strengthening people-to-people relations; and building strong socio-political and economic relations. The Mission also provides consular services.
I am hopeful that you will find the website helpful, but if you still have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us, and we will gladly provide you with the relevant information.
I would also like to take advantage of this opportunity to encourage all Malawian citizens and permanent residents in Tanzania and other countries of accreditation to register with the High Commission. The registration can also be done on-line on this website.
Welcome to Malawi, The warm heart of Africa!
